Diesel Equipment Specialist for Fleet Operations

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic Technician Class B to join our team at Performance Foodservice.
Job Summary:
The Diesel Mechanic Technician Class B is responsible for ensuring the safe operation of our fleet diesel equipment by performing repair, maintenance, and overhaul tasks. This role involves preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation of repairs, as well as providing guidance to other mechanics.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance on medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, and convertor dollies under minimal supervision.
- Identify root causes of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required.
- Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration prior to being deemed as 'roadworthy'.
- Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system.
- Install, replace, and repair onboard computers.
- Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure they are in proper operating condition.
- Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
- Train/provide guidance to other Mechanics.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
- 3-5 years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair experience, including PM's, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and experience in refrigeration

Location:
This role is based in the United States, supporting Performance Foodservice's operations nationwide.
Estimated Salary: Based on industry standards and location, we estimate the annual salary for this role to be around $63,000-$72,000 per year.
