Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to lead the development and operation of systems designed to detect and track targets in the extended Geostationary Orbit (xGEO) regime.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in celestial reference frames, astrometric and photometric data analysis, and experience with COTS and GOTS tools for orbit determination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement detection and tracking algorithms for xGEO targets.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and support space object collision and characterization analysis studies.
  • Provide expert advice and support in SOCCA studies.

Candidate Requirements:

  • PhD in Astronomy, Physics, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in space traffic management, space situational awareness, or space domain awareness.
  • TS/SCI security clearance required.

Deliverables:

  • Project plan outlining proposed work and schedule.
  • Monthly reports summarizing accomplishments and future plans.
  • Comprehensive final report detailing completed work and remaining tasks.
