Corteva Agriscience is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Woodhull, IL facility. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant by performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and collaborating with colleagues to resolve complex problems.
Key Responsibilities- Support plant operations by performing routine maintenance tasks, such as equipment inspections, repairs, and replacements.
- Deliver maintenance support for capital projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
- Maintain the condition of the plant shop and maintenance tools, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Support Process Safety Management and location safety efforts, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
- Conduct seasonal prep work, including annual preventative maintenance, repairs, and improvements, to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Assure proper set-up, calibration, operation, and preventative maintenance of equipment, machines, and facilities, minimizing downtime and ensuring efficient production.
- Complete grounds and facility maintenance as needed, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Utilize predictive maintenance tools to detect and remedy future machine failures, reducing the risk of equipment breakdowns.
- Create, continually update, and train on preventative maintenance plans for varied equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Maintain detailed equipment records and prints, providing valuable insights for future maintenance and repair activities.
- Ensure operation of company equipment, including electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, control devices, and HVAC, for process and facility.
- Perform minor electrical repairs and scheduled inspections of equipment, following prescribed guidelines and procedures.
- Various other duties as assigned by supervisor, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- One (1) year of education and/or experience in Industrial Electromechanical or Maintenance experience (e.g., HVAC, Millwright, Welding, Pneumatic Controls, Hydraulics, etc.).
- Enjoy working on machines and electrical components, with a passion for troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Willing and able to do the following with or without reasonable accommodation: Climb and/or work in elevated areas, Stand and sit for extended periods, work outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions, lift up to fifty (50) lbs.
- Comfortable with technology and possess good computer aptitude, including the use of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- High diligence, able to multitask, maintain an organized workplace, and possess excellent problem-solving skills.
- Valid US Driver's License.
- Value working as a team, initiative-taking, communicate concerns, and accepting of change.
- Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Uphold health and safety to the highest standard, consistently helping others and demonstrating adherence to safety protocols, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Understand that delivering to our customers on-time keeps us viable and are willing and able to work a rotating shift and overtime hours, including nights and weekends during seasonal peaks to support production demand.
- Two-Year or Associates Degree in Maintenance, Agriculture, Manufacturing, Electrical, or related field.
- Three (3) years of education and experience in Industrial Electromechanical and/or Maintenance experience (e.g., HVAC, Millwright, Welding, Pneumatic Controls, Hydraulics, etc.).
- Previous experience or knowledge of production agriculture and associated machinery (i.e., conveyors, elevator legs, packaging equipment, etc.) or other mechanical/electrical systems.
- Knowledge and experience with process controls, schematics, electrical systems, hydraulic repair, and test equipment.
- Millwright, welding, and forklift driving skills.
- Basic knowledge or previous experience with Hot Works Safety Program, Lockout Tag Out (LOTO), Process Controls, etc.
- Previous experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or similar systems (i.e., eMaint).
