Job Summary

As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care by performing diagnostic medical sonograms, including abdominal and OB/Gynecology ultrasound examinations. Under indirect supervision, you will utilize complex ultrasound equipment and transducers to obtain accurate diagnostic images.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic medical sonograms, including abdominal and OB/Gynecology ultrasound examinations, to obtain accurate diagnostic images.
  • Utilize complex ultrasound equipment and transducers to ensure high-quality images.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other clinicians to clarify orders and ensure accurate diagnoses.
  • Document clinical activities in a timely, comprehensive, and accurate manner.
  • Maintain equipment, supplies, and work area in accordance with department guidelines.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited ultrasound program or a graduate from a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program with current ARDMS certification.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Ob-Gyn from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • Basic Life Support within four (4) months of hire.
  • Competency in components of sonography, including routine abdomen, abdomen doppler, small parts, thyroid, and obstetrics/gynecology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) years experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in a major medical center.
  • Experience with Acuson Sequoia, Philips iu-22, and Clickview ultrasound reporting package.
