Responsibilities
We seek a skilled Orthopedic Care Specialist to perform essential components of physical therapy procedures under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. The selected candidate will assist in providing exceptional care that enhances mobility, relieves pain, and prevents or limits permanent physical disabilities in patients affected by injuries or disease.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer therapeutic exercises and modalities as per the physical therapy plan of care.
  • Instruct, motivate, and assist patients to learn and improve functional activities such as pre-ambulation, transfer, ambulation, and daily living activities.
  • Observe patients during treatments, assess their responses to treatment, compile data on progress, and report verbally or in writing to the physical therapist. May communicate updates to physicians.
  • Fabricate, adjust, and train patients in the use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices such as crutches, canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.
  • Perform clerical duties as needed.
  • Promote positive customer service while interacting with clients, guests, and hospital personnel.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must hold an Associate's Degree from an approved program for Physical Therapist Assistants. Current Texas State Licensure (PTA) is mandatory, along with Basic Life Support BLS/CPR certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). Graduates eligible for licensure will be considered.

Pay Range: $22.79 - $31.33/hour
