Job Description

As an Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse at Cedar Park Regional Medical Center, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating assigned patients and planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care
  • Performing various patient tests and administering medications as ordered by physicians, keeping within the scope of practice of the registered nurse
  • Assisting physicians during examination and procedures related to adult and pediatric radiology, ultrasound, CT, MRI, interventional radiology (IR), and other special procedures cases
  • Preparing required documentation and maintaining appropriate internal records on patient care
  • Promoting patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills
  • May direct, monitor, and/or evaluate care delegated to non-licensed personnel
  • Assumes, under the direction of the laboratory, responsibility for patient specimen testing, quality control, quality improvement, and equipment maintenance
  • Performs a range of technical services in a cross-functional mode to comprehensively serve patient needs
  • Communicates effectively and collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure safe and accurate delivery of patient care
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Texas or a compact state
  • American Heart Association (AHA) approved Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
  • A minimum of three years of adult and pediatric interventional radiology (IR) experience
