About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team at Hometown Veterinary Partners in Schaumburg. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional client care and supporting our hospital team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a positive and supportive work environment, promoting a culture of collaboration and community.
  • Welcome clients and their pets, providing a friendly and courteous experience.
  • Assist with client check-in and check-out, setting up appointments for follow-up care.
  • Gather vital signs, weight, and history on patients, preparing them for examinations and procedures.
  • Properly restrain pets during examinations and procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Prepare and administer medications as prescribed by the DVM, closely following instructions.
  • Observe animal behavior and health conditions, reporting to the DVM and assisting in emergency cases.
  • Keep accurate records and logs, documenting patient information and treatment plans.
  • Advise pet owners on nutrition and healthcare, educating them on medications, husbandry, and recommended practices.
  • Perform basic laboratory testing and radiographs, dental prophylactic procedures, and anesthetic procedures.
  • Lead as a provider of veterinary technician appointments, adhering to state practice act and veterinary client-patient relationship guidelines.
Requirements
  • Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) preferred.
  • Graduation from an AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology Program preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of veterinary or technician experience required.
