As a Data Scientist at Sun Life, you will play a critical role in driving business outcomes across the Health and Risk Solutions business. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, monitor, and maintain predictive models to support use cases such as identifying members for clinical review, identifying health capability opportunities, and proactive outreach for health navigation engagement.
  • Apply machine learning techniques to streamline and automate aspects of these processes and promote adoption of analytic solutions deployed.
  • Utilize multiple sources of data, including structured and unstructured data, to improve insights of the models.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, robust predictive models using advanced analytic techniques.
  • Extract and analyze internal and external data sources to help answer key business problems related to risk assessment.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in developing and implementing data science techniques.
  • BS/MS in a statistical, mathematical, or technical field (e.g., computer science).
  • Healthcare Claims data or health insurance experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with a one or more statistical programming languages, applications, and data environments (e.g., Python, SQL, R, Tableau).
  • Strong knowledge of data science, including GenAI (LLM/API integrations), conditioning, modeling, and visualization.
  • Strong knowledge of the fundamental statistical and AI underpinnings of data science.
  • Expertise in data munging, transformation, and featurization.
  • Commitment to data compliance, model governance, and security protocols.
