Blood Bank Technologist Job Description

University Hospital, Newark NJ is seeking a highly skilled Blood Bank Technologist to join our team.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain blood/blood product inventory and perform daily temperature quality control of designated refrigerators.
  • Thaw fresh frozen plasma and aliquot blood for pediatric patients.
  • Log in blood/blood products and issue them as needed.
  • Perform clerical duties and answer phones.
  • Communicate with staff under the direction of the Chief Technologist.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology.
  • Medical Technologist (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred.
