Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the company's external reporting process, ensuring alignment with SEC rules and regulations.
  • Support coordination with internal and external counsel and external auditors.
  • Conduct technical accounting research and prepare memos to detail company-specific positions.
  • Assist with drafting, communication, and implementation of worldwide Cengage Accounting and Financial Policies.
  • Administer Workiva, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy of external reporting and earnings releases.
  • Maintain strong internal controls over applicable areas of responsibility.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required, CPA preferred.
  • 3+ years of increasing responsibilities and related experience, public accounting experience a plus.
  • Experience with Workiva and XBLR, a plus.
  • Self-motivated with ability to handle fluctuating workload and timelines.
  • Careful attention to detail and ability to organize.
  • Comfortable operating within a dynamic, complex organizational structure and ability to be flexible and collaborate with team on different projects and needs.
  • Ability to succeed in a multi-priority, fast-paced and changing environment and readiness to embrace and successfully drive/implement change.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.

Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.
