Job Description

The Optical Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining equipment within the assigned area for surface production tasks. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing various tasks of area production machine functions, such as interpretation of Rx work tickets and performing production operations on specified equipment.
  • Performing basic/routine maintenance of assigned equipment, troubleshooting mal-functioning equipment, and advising supervisors on possible remedies.
  • Preparing necessary solutions or slurry mixtures for lens production processes, ensuring sufficient supplies are available.

This position requires exposure to hazardous substances/chemicals, necessitating safety training.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • The ability to multi-task, focus on details, and operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic high school-level math skills and the ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.

Your estimated annual salary range is $45,000 - $65,000 based on your location, experience, and qualifications.
