Job Summary:

The position of Senior Fleet Mechanic at US Foods, Inc. requires a skilled professional to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair diesel equipment, including tractors and trailers. This role demands a strong background in preventative maintenance, road service calls, and safety regulations compliance.

As a key member of the transportation team, you will be responsible for completing repair orders, performing PM tasks, handling road rescue/transport equipment, and maintaining accurate records. Additionally, you will work closely with colleagues to ensure seamless operations and support the VP of Operations and Transportation Manager in achieving company goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshooting and repairing complex diesel equipment issues
  • Maintaining accurate records of repairs, PM tasks, and parts inventory
  • Handling road service calls and performing roadside assistance as needed
  • Collaborating with colleagues to achieve transportation department objectives
Requirements:
  • A valid Class-A CDL license (DOT certified preferred)
  • At least 7 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic
  • Demonstrated diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, analytical problem-solving abilities, and independent work ethic
  • Familiarity with EPA and OSHA regulations related to shop and fleet operations
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
