Employment Classification: 10-month hourly employee, Full time, 6 hours per day

Location: Seton Catholic Schools - Float

Role Overview:
The SNP Associate Float is responsible for culinary operations at assigned schools and satellite locations. This role includes ensuring compliance with HACCP, USDA, and DPI standards to uphold quality control and efficient functioning of the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program. A valid driver's license and insurance are required, as travel between different school sites will be necessary. Work hours will be determined by the SNP Director and SNP Associate Director.

Key Responsibilities:

Meal Planning and Preparation:
  • Assist the SNP Manager with procurement of food and supplies as necessary.
  • Help with the receipt and organization of food and supply deliveries.
  • Prepare meals following approved procedures, including standardized recipes, portion control, and food presentation.
  • Participate in taste testing and evaluation of new food products and preparation methods as needed.
  • Maintain production records for portion control.
  • Cook according to provided standardized recipes.
  • Guide students in making healthy meal choices.
  • Gather feedback from students, parents, and satellite sites regarding food quality and menu options.
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with students and Seton staff.
Record Keeping:
  • Complete daily HACCP logs to ensure food safety.
  • Maintain daily production records as required.
  • Learn and record POS counts as necessary.
Food Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to established food safety standards and procedures in accordance with USDA, HACCP, and State regulations.
  • Perform cleaning duties as scheduled for production and dining areas.
  • Help maintain organized storage areas, including freezers, refrigerators, and dry storage.
  • Complete all required annual training.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift, move, and stock food and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to work in varying temperature conditions.
  • Stamina to perform duties efficiently throughout the workday.
  • Must be free from communicable diseases.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Strong belief in the mission of Seton Catholic Schools.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience in food service within educational settings or large-scale food production preferred.
  • Food Manager Certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of food service operations and sanitation procedures is desirable.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and the community.
  • Willingness to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Adherence to uniform and grooming standards.
  • Compliance with Seton policies and procedures.
