Compensation Specialist with Church and Non-Profit Expertise

Kingdom One, a rapidly growing non-profit organization, is seeking an experienced Compensation Specialist to join our team. With a strong focus on serving the church, we are looking for a highly skilled professional who can deliver exceptional results in payroll management.

Salary: $27-$31 per hour

Job Description:

We exist to help build courageous, effective, and healthy ministries. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to share your God-given talents with ministries and build strong relationships that make lasting change to grow the Church. This role involves working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless payroll operations.

  • You will demonstrate customer service acumen with a genuine desire to proactively and consistently deliver value to our internal teams.
  • Run timely on and off-cycle payroll internally.
  • Resource and train talent groups in payroll features, systems, and processes that are relevant.
  • Lead and support the implementation and/or transition of multiple payroll/HRIS systems.
  • Perform assigned work for our customer ministries (e.g., reports, payroll processing, payroll audit, completing specific project work, etc.).
  • Contribute to special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • An experienced payroll specialist or manager for a minimum of 5 years, High School diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.
  • Experience with various HRIS & Payroll systems (e.g., Paylocity, ADP, Paychex, Paycom).
  • A solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices.
  • Experience working in a variety of industries from church, non-profit, and marketplace.
  • Knowledgeable legislation and regulations of the payroll field.
  • Prioritize communication and loves working on a team.
  • Is comfortable working in a fast-paced and growing environment.
  • Is technology savvy and comfortable with using a variety of accounting systems, including MS Office or G-Suite.
  • Loves to work with people and sit as an advisor as well as executor to multiple organizations.
  • Would love to create content to help educate and resource ministries.
  • Is a strong project manager who loves to serve people, is collaborative, and is organized.
  • Has a heart for serving the church, loves Jesus, and is excited to grow the capital C church.
