Tractor Trailer Driver Apprentice

Job Summary:
FedEx is seeking a Tractor Trailer Driver Apprentice to join our team. As a Tractor Trailer Driver Apprentice, you will be responsible for driving a tractor-trailer vehicle to designated locations and operating mechanized loading/unloading equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive tractor-trailer vehicle to designated locations
- Operate mechanized loading/unloading equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Six (6) months FedEx Express experience preferred
- Ability to drive manual transmission preferred
- Ability to operate mechanized loading/GSE
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 Lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person
- Customer contact & package handling experience preferred
- Good human relations & verbal communication skills
- Neat appearance since customer contact is involved
Working Conditions:
- FMCSA covered safety sensitive position
- Medical exam required
- Subject to regulatory alcohol & drug testing, which includes testing for marijuana, pcp, amphetamines, cocaine & opioids
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) & a hazardous materials endorsement (HME) for type of vehicle assigned within 90 days
- Good driving record as outlined in policy
