Job Summary:

The Tool Maker position at Honda North America is responsible for the manufacturing, reworking, and maintenance of tooling. This role requires the ability to read and interpret tool designs, participate in proposed new tooling concepts, and provide feedback on tool fabrication.

Key Responsibilities:

Performs machining, assembly, and modification of tools on both assembly and detail level throughout the product build.
Understands varied drilling, machining, and assembly processes to meet 2D and 3D requirements.
Interacts with individuals inside and outside the assigned area, often directly with the internal customer.
Recommends solutions to a variety of related tooling problems.
Operates required machinery and equipment (CNC and Manual) using the prescribed processes and procedures while following established safety rules.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Associates degree or higher in a technical field preferred.
3 years of mechanical and/or tool fabrication experience.
3 years CNC programming from 2D prints and CAD models.
AWS D1.1 and/or D1.2 Weld Certification (Steel and Aluminum) or aptitude to pass certification a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise, heat, cold, dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).
