MRI Technician Job Description

At MLee Healthcare Staffing and Recruiting, Inc, we are seeking a skilled MRI Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting standard and specialized MRI scans while ensuring the MRI equipment is operated safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely perform MRI exams, preparing for and assessing the technical quality of MRI images.
  • Implement and oversee procedures to maximize the MRI scanner's use.
  • Handle "Informed Consent" documentation as necessary.
  • Conduct IV insertions with sterile technique and administer contrast media under physician guidance.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the MRI scanner and related equipment, adhering to infection control standards.
  • Participate in oncall duties, ensuring availability within 20 minutes if called upon.
  • May need to work additional hours or on scheduled days off for part-time positions.
  • Follow MRI safety and quality assurance guidelines.
  • Efficiently use PACS, RIS, and EMR systems, completing all examination paperwork.
  • Meet all continuing education and certification requirements, including Basic Life Support (CPR).
  • Engage in Quality Improvement Programs and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduation from an ARRT-approved Radiologic Technology program.
  • ARRT registration in MRI within one year of starting in the MRI role.

Preferred:

  • Prior MRI experience.
  • Valid ARRT registration or obtained within one year of employment.
  • Proficiency in computer use, keyboarding skills, and email communication.
