Position Overview:
The Electrical Test Engineer (Contract) is sought by SIGMADESIGN to support a leading consumer electronics firm. This role involves engaging in electromechanical testing within a collaborative environment.

Contract Duration:
This position is contracted for an anticipated duration with potential for extension.

Salary range: $115,000 - $140,000 per year, dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities:
The Electrical Test Engineer will be tasked with:
- Developing methods for electrical fault isolation of component-level electronics using techniques such as TDR, Laser-Thermal, magnetic current imaging, and lock-in thermography.
- Analyzing circuit designs to determine root causes of marginal failures.
- Preparing metallurgical samples through processes including potting, cross-sectioning, polishing, and de-capping.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in fault isolation techniques on integrated electronic devices.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, BOMs, and understanding PCB layouts and component data sheets.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, along with excellent teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills:
Ideal candidates will have:
- Knowledge of integrated electronics fabrication processes and experience with electro-mechanical systems assembly.
- At least 1 year of experience in analytical and failure analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with materials used in flexible electronic devices.

Work Environment:
The role is based in a standard lab/production setting where appropriate safety gear must be worn. There may be occasional requirements to work in environments that simulate typical user conditions for testing and validation purposes. Travel to various facilities may be necessary, and candidates should be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
