Ophthalmic Technician

As an Ophthalmic Technician at Midwest Vision Partners, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our team of ophthalmologists and optometrists. Your primary responsibility will be to assist with diagnostic tests and procedures, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care and attention.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet patients and explain the purpose of their appointment, providing a warm and welcoming experience.
Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for diagnostic tests and procedures, such as visual acuity, tonometry, and lensometry.
Perform diagnostic tests and procedures, including measuring eye muscle function, pupil size, and reactivity, and applying drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes.
Assist with minor surgery procedures, intraocular injections, and laser treatments, preparing patients for sterile procedures and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Educate patients regarding the administration of medications and pre and post-operative instructions, as directed by physicians.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA requirements.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Valid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle.
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
