Chief Psychiatrist for Veteran Services

In this pivotal on-site position, you will oversee a dedicated team of healthcare professionals committed to providing exceptional care to a diverse population of veterans in the region. Your role encompasses both inpatient and outpatient services addressing a variety of psychiatric conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
As a leader, you will conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, implement therapeutic strategies, perform diagnostic assessments, manage medication protocols, and assess suicide risk, ensuring holistic care for patients facing psychiatric challenges. You will also take charge of coordinating specialty clinic referrals and consults as the mental health team leader. Additionally, your administrative duties will involve the development and supervision of mental health programs and policies, collaborating closely with the Service Chief to enhance departmental effectiveness. Opportunities to mentor and educate within the psychiatric residency program may also be part of your responsibilities.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Medical Doctor (MD or DO) with an active and unrestricted DEA license for medication prescription.
  • Possession of a current, unrestricted medical license in any US state.
  • Completion of residency training in the United States.
  • Proven experience in multidisciplinary inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care.
  • Preferred: Minimum of 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role within a clinical environment.
  • On-call duties are an integral part of this position.
