The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, is seeking an Enrichment Instructor specializing in Gymnastics to join our team.

Job Overview

This part-time position supports the work of the Y by providing direct leadership, instruction, and motivation for program participants in Expanded Learning Opportunity (ELO) classes. The Enrichment Instructor will deliver high-quality experiences for elementary school participants through various instructional opportunities at the school site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop lesson plans with a natural progression suitable for students' ages and abilities, collaborating with Y experts as needed.
  • Complete required training alongside site staff before the program session.
  • Lead the instruction of Gymnastics programming.
  • Plan, lead, and assist group activities.
  • Enforce all safety rules.
  • Implement the provided Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies throughout the program.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and requirements.
  • Record class attendance and participants' progress.
  • Communicate with parents and supervisors about participant performance.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be a successful candidate, you should have:

  • A minimum age of 18 or older.
  • At least six months of experience in Gymnastics Instruction, preferably.
  • A positive attitude and prior experience working with children and diverse populations.
  • Knowledge and skills in Gymnastics and related equipment setup.
  • Ability to instruct participants in age-appropriate techniques.
  • Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on the first day and other required training.
  • Pass Background and Reference checks, adhering to the WA State Fair Chance Act.
Compensation and Benefits

This part-time position offers:

  • An estimated annual salary range of $36,200 - $40,400 based on qualifications.
