Community Support Specialist

Job SummaryThe Community Mentor will work closely with individuals, helping them develop essential life skills and overcome challenges. This dynamic role requires effective communication, active listening, and a strong ability to empathize with others. As a Community Mentor, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals, promoting personal growth and independence.
Key Responsibilities- Provide social interactions and support individuals with various tasks, such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, and shopping.
- Accompany individuals during travel and assist them in accessing leisure activities.
- Conduct intermittent check-ins by telephone call during periods of absence from the caregiver.
- Establish strong relationships with individuals and their families, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Complete record-keeping accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to the employer's requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid Connecticut driver's license.
- Pass a criminal background check and registry check.
- Have effective communication skills and the ability to listen actively and empathize with others.
- Be detail-oriented and able to complete record-keeping accurately and in a timely manner.
