Information Technology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Information Technology Specialist to join our team at the Internal Revenue Service. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex computer systems and networks.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and strategies to ensure the optimization and integration of computer systems and networks.
- Provide authoritative advice to other specialists on disaster recovery, capacity planning, applications development, hardware strategy, and Unisys operating systems security.
- Lead major IRS-wide operating systems projects, including installation, configuration, testing, and implementation of new operating environments.
- Develop contingency plans for disaster recovery and business continuation, ensuring the availability and accessibility of network resources in emergency situations.
- Plan and coordinate the installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrade of enterprise management software and related systems infrastructure.
To be eligible for this position, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service. This experience must have been in an IT field or work where the primary concern was the subject matter of the IT application.
Alternatively, you may qualify for this position by meeting the education requirements, which include a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, statistics, operations research, engineering, or technology management.
