Job Description

As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist at our outpatient mental health clinic in San Pedro, CA, you will provide therapeutic services to clients using evidence-based practices to support their mental health and well-being. Your strong commitment to ethical practice, clinical excellence, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations to determine clients' mental health needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions using various therapeutic modalities and interventions.
  • Collaborate with clients to set achievable goals and monitor progress toward those goals.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals and community resources as needed.
  • Participate in case conferences and treatment team meetings to discuss client cases and treatment strategies.
  • Provide crisis intervention services and support to clients in acute distress.
  • Stay informed about current research, best practices, and developments in the field of mental health therapy.
  • Adhere to licensing regulations, ethical guidelines, and clinic policies and procedures.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A current licensure as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC), or Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) in the state of California.
  • A Master's or doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience providing individual, couples, and/or group therapy in a clinical setting, preferably in outpatient mental health.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with clients and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic clinical environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards of practice.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic computer skills.
