About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Janitorial Services Specialist to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Waukesha County.

Job Summary: The Janitorial Services Specialist will be responsible for providing exceptional janitorial duties to ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of our facility and grounds. This role involves cleaning and sanitizing various areas, including restrooms, floors, windows, and equipment. Additionally, the Janitorial Services Specialist will be responsible for emptying waste containers, replacing soap and paper towels, and reporting supply stock problems.

Responsibilities:

  1. Cleaning and Sanitation: Cleans and sanitizes sinks, toilets, showers, restrooms, floors, walls, windows, and other assigned areas of the building.
  2. Waste Management: Empties waste containers, both inside and outside of the building.
  3. Supply Management: Replaces soap, paper towels, and other supplies as needed, and reports supply stock problems.
  4. Biohazard Disposal: Assists in the proper disposal of biohazard materials.
  5. Pool Area Cleanliness: Assists with general pool area cleanliness.
  6. Maintenance Duties: Performs various duties such as dusting, maintaining entrances and offices, and cleaning fitness equipment when needed.
  7. Building Maintenance: Reports building problems, performs sidewalk/exterior clean up, and disposes of trash.
  8. Licensed Program Spaces: Monitors licensed program spaces to meet regulations, including preschool and summer day camp.
  9. Event Setup: Sets up furniture for special events.
  10. General Building Setup: Assists with general building setup and informational displays, including the outdoor marquee.
  11. Safety and Security: Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures, and exemplifies the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all aspects of job performance and relationships with others.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have six months or more of related experience and possess the physical ability to reach, bend, and stretch, and be able to lift or carry 30 pounds. They must also have the ability to use equipment and chemicals in a prescribed manner, including reading labels, MSDS information sheets, and instructions. Candidates should be able to carry out instructions independently and get along with people of diverse backgrounds. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Salary Range: $10.00 - $14.00 per hour
