Medical Specialist for Neurology Hospitalist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Specialist to join our team in Richmond, VA. This position involves providing specialized care within an inpatient neuro consult service setting as a Hospitalist Neurology Physician. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and treating complex neurological conditions, including consultations and rounding within the hospital.

The typical working hours for this position are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The on-call requirements follow a 7 on/7 off rotation, where there is a 24-hour window to see a consult during the on-call period. On average, the physician will be expected to manage approximately 15 inpatients per day, rounding in multiple areas, including the Emergency Department (ED), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and six other designated units.

Responsibilities also include responding to consults from ED, ICU, and other departments. Requirements for the position include:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Board Certification in Neurology
  • Valid Virginia medical license
