The University of North Carolina at Greensboro is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Accountant to join our team. As a key member of the Office of the Controller, this role will be responsible for directing the monthly payroll/tax processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments to university employees, and maintaining strict confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with directing the monthly payroll/tax processes to ensure accurate payments and reconciliation of payroll liability accounts.
Liaise between the functional area of Payroll and the technical area IT to ensure timely and accurate setup and maintenance of the university payroll.
Identify changes/issues from various Payroll Users and thoroughly research, analyze, and test each to ensure desired resolutions are reached.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field, and 2-4 years of related experience, or equivalent education and experience.
Experience with payroll tax accounting, automated timekeeping systems, and Excel spreadsheet design creation with data comparisons.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and work effectively in a team environment.
