Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Architect IV to join our team at the Health & Human Services Comm. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing advanced architectural work, including planning, design, and implementation of architectural and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides high-level technical architectural assistance and leads complex and large-scoped long-term care construction inspections and investigations.
  • Conducts annual, required, and initial surveys to determine compliance with state licensure and/or federal certification requirements.
  • Identifies and writes deficiencies in accordance with program requirements and makes appropriate referrals to state and federal agencies.
  • Accurately interprets codes, rules, and regulations and prepares guidance letters.
  • Reviews and approves federal survey reports, trains inspection staff, and coordinates travel.
Requirements
  • Licensed Architect by the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners.
  • Valid Class C (or higher) Texas driver's license or equivalent license from another state.
  • Professional architectural experience that relates to evaluating buildings and structures for code compliance.
  • Architectural experience with healthcare or long-term care facilities preferred.

Work Environment

This position requires 85% travel, with most travel during the day. However, some overnight and weekend travel is required, as well as occasional on-call duties for emergencies or high-priority situations in facilities.
