Job Description

The Assistant Project Controls Specialist will be a crucial member of our team in supporting all aspects of project controls and reporting. This includes project change management, cost control, progress measurement, schedule development, and schedule control.

We are looking for a highly skilled professional to assist with:

  • Setting up projects in the Enterprise Planning & Controls software
  • Inputting data, maintaining logs, and running reports in the software or other tools
  • Assisting with creating Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining scheduling reports, cost reports, cash flows, and forecasts on small projects
  • FOLLOWING project execution plans
  • Reviewing and approving Purchase Orders and/or Subcontracts for proper coding
  • Documenting changes to cost reports or forecasts
  • Assisting with upstream (prime contract) and downstream (purchase order & subcontract) change orders
  • Developing a cash flow
  • Assisting in the development of various levels of schedules
  • Applying logic ties within the schedule
  • Loading resources into a schedule
  • Coordinating project schedules and developing scheduling reports
  • Retrieving, reviewing, and distributing pre-programmed scheduling reports along with back-up documentation
  • Updating and documenting schedule progress
  • Developing and maintaining an earned value management system
  • Verifying progress measurements
  • Developing and maintaining progress curves
  • MATERIAL TAKEOFFS
  • Quality checks and inspections on project controls deliverables
  • Field audits to validate accuracy of reporting and processes

This is a full-time position based in Detroit, MI, with occasional travel expected (up to 15% of the time). The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
