**Job Summary**

This critical role within our client coordinates procurement and risk management of raw materials and packaging supplies from a diverse and global supply base. Negotiating price, terms and expanding the network of approved vendors and suppliers.

**Responsibilities**

• Develop and implement strategies to drive down costs of raw materials and packaging supplies.
• Expand network of approved vendors/suppliers, ensuring a robust business continuity plan (BCP).
• Maintain and enhance a current vendor partner relationship dynamic, fostering high regard and support from suppliers.
• Develop a deep understanding of market dynamics, including global events, weather, crop conditions, geo-political developments, and more.

**Qualifications**

• 5 to 7+ years of applicable risk management and procurement experience required.
• Strong preference for those within the food, beverage, or agricultural category.
• Strong multi-faceted negotiation skills required, driving lowest cost and most favorable terms while maintaining relationships.
• An individual that negotiates and garners the best deal while maintaining relationships.
• An individual that can garner respect from the industry and supply partners.
• Deep understanding and knowledge of commodities, commodity markets, and global markets.
• Strong preference for those with accountability and/or traded futures, options (puts, calls, spreads, etc).
• Deep experience within the broader context of negotiating terms and leveraging that skill set for favorable terms: volume, MOQs, timing, warehousing, inventory on hand and ownership, quality, packing options, freight FOB or CIF.
• College degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or finance from an accredited institution.
• Highly proficient in Excel, Word, and ability to rapidly learn and command various software systems.
• Drive, determination, tenacity, and a strong work ethic required.
• Positive attitude and a passion for winning.
• Highly proficient, professional, and accurate communication (written, email, and phone) a must.
• Attention to detail, methodical, and systematic approach, and tenacity for accuracy critical for success.
• Flexibility and drive to learn, take on more, and expand outside of this traditional role whenever business needs dictate.
• Fast learner, excellent training retention skills, and ability to grow within this role a must.
• Ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.

**Estimated Salary**

$120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
