Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Oilfield Derrick Hand to join our team at Steel Partners. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our workover rigs.

  • $65,000 - $85,000 per year (dependent on experience)

In this role, you will work closely with our crew operators and other specialists to ensure that all aspects of the rig operation are carried out safely and efficiently. This will include tasks such as transferring rod sections, operating the rod hoist, and maintaining equipment.

You will also be responsible for participating in daily pre-job safety meetings and writing Job Hazard Analyses (JHA's) to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 1-2 years of floor hand experience preferred
  • Basic problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and verbal/written English communication skills
  • Minimum 1 year basic oilfield service experience
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Class B CDL license to drive workover rig (not required but encouraged)
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and lift objects of up to 75 pounds for extended periods
  • This position requires standing, walking, and sitting while working either indoors or outdoors
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to pass company pre-employment exam, including drug screen and physical
  • Acceptable criminal history
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English to the extent that they can understand verbal and written instructions as well as give verbal and written instructions in English
