About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced EHS Specialist to join our team at Johns Manville. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees and protecting the environment. Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing effective EHS programs, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead or participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis to identify and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform risk and hazard assessments to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Develop and implement safety training programs for employees to ensure they have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their jobs safely.
  • Compile and track documentation for compliance with safety and environmental policies and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the plant operations team and corporate safety team to develop and implement EHS initiatives and strategies.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in a safety and/or environmental role in an industrial setting.
  • Working knowledge of federal safety and environmental laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, training, and organizational skills.
  • Leadership skills to direct personnel and implement initiatives.
