Job Summary

The University of California, San Francisco invites applications for a Medical Nuclear Physicist position in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging. The selected candidate will be appointed at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the In-Residence or Adjunct series, depending on qualifications and interests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop an independent research program of excellence in nuclear medical imaging, detector instrumentation, and image reconstruction.
  • Conduct research on theranostics agents and dosimetry, including alpha and beta emitters, and develop photon-counting CT as a clinical modality.
  • Teach residents, fellows, medical students, and masters students in the department.
  • Collaborate with basic scientists and clinical researchers in planning, conducting, and evaluating data.
Requirements
  • PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate or postdoctoral training and research experience, preferably at least two years combined.
  • Current and/or pending qualifications upon submission, to be met by the time of the faculty appointment start date.
