Job Summary

At University Health, we are seeking a skilled Dialysis Nurse Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct patient care and monitoring of renal dialysis patients in a designated clinic setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the nursing process in a safe and therapeutic manner.
  • Provide direct patient care and monitoring of renal dialysis patients.
  • Oversee direct patient care of ESRD patients on dialysis.
  • Support and adhere to University Health and department-specific policies and standards.
  • Receive mentoring from the Director of Dialysis Services.

Requirements

  • BSN is highly preferred.
  • Must meet career ladder Staff Nurse III criteria for specialty area worked.
  • A minimum of three years of nursing experience is required.
  • A national certificate in Dialysis is required.
  • Verification of course completion in accordance with all American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support and Health Care Provider guidelines is required.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Current RN licensure from the Board of Nurse Examiners of the state of Texas is required.
