Mental Health Support Specialist

At COMHAR, we are committed to providing health and human services that empower individuals, families, and communities to live healthier, self-determined lives. We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at the Open Door Clubhouse, an employment-based psychiatric rehabilitation and recovery program for adults based on the acclaimed Fountain House Model.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Encourage member involvement in achieving their goals in living, learning, working, and recreating in the community.
  • Provide support and assistance to members as needed, including serving as a Placement Manager (Job Coach) for members working transitional employment.
  • Participate in the Clubhouse Social/Recreational program as scheduled and maintain health and safety standards as required by the Clubhouse and regulating agencies.
  • Ensure the safety of members and security of Clubhouse property and equipment.
Requirements:
  • An Associate's Degree in Human Services or other related field, or High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience working in the mental health field.
  • A valid driver's license (some driving required) and completion of a 12-hour orientation on psych rehab/Clubhouse Model offered by certified trainers within one year of hire.
  • Experience working in the mental health field in a Clubhouse or Psych Rehab Program preferred.
