Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our multidisciplinary team in the Markey Cancer Center. As an oncology care coordinator, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive patient-centered care, coordinating clinical responsibilities, and ensuring seamless communication among healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct patient care, prioritizing patient satisfaction and comfort.
  • Coordinate with medical assistants, pod schedulers, and other team members to ensure efficient care delivery.
  • Administer injections, lab draws, port flushes, dressing changes, EKGs, and assist with minor procedures as needed.
  • Pre- and post-operative care coordination, including scans, home health referrals, and chemotherapy scheduling.
  • Answer clinical questions via Epic messages and patient phone calls, promoting effective communication.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

  • At least 1 year of RN experience, preferably in oncology or a related field.
  • BSN degree or higher.
  • Exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, colleagues, and physicians.
  • A strong commitment to patient-centered care, teamwork, and continuous learning.

Benefits

The University of Kentucky offers a competitive salary range for this position:
$82,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
