Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Metal Fabrication Specialist to join our expanding team. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal products using various equipment such as plenums, fire dampers, and diffusers.

About the Role
  • Installs distribution lines and equipment per plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Installs joints of duct, including slide and drive, TDF, snap lock, and other assemblies as required.
  • Reviews and converts blueprint specifications into shop drawings to be followed in the construction or assembly of sheet metal products.
  • Erects and installs equipment such as air handling units, VAV boxes, fan power boxes, and others as needed.
  • Works safely and complies with applicable health and safety-related rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Installs ductless mini-splits.
  • Determines project requirements, including scope, assembly sequences, required methods, materials, using blueprints, drawings, written or verbal instructions.
  • Fastens seams or joints together with welds, bolts, cement, rivets, solder, caulks, metal drive clips, or bonds to assemble components to products or to repair sheet metal items.
  • Fabricates ducts for high-efficiency heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to maximize system efficiency.
  • Selects gauges or types of sheet metal or nonmetallic material, according to product specifications.
  • Trains and mentors helper/trainees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in the sheet metal mechanic field or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
  • Familiarity with ductmate, spiral, slide, and drive ductwork.
  • Must be able to multitask, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to pass a post-offer pre-employment drug screen and may be required to satisfactorily complete additional background checks as needed.
  • Must adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Must be available and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role requires working in varying temperatures, both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampness. You may also be exposed to moderate/high noise levels, fumes or airborne particles, including dust. The physical demands of this role include standing/walking for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working aloft, climbing, bending, pulling, reaching overhead, and using heavy machinery, hand, and power tools.

Travel may be required. A prior military experience and high school diploma or GED equivalent are preferred but not required.
