Job Summary:

This position performs a variety of diagnostic cardiac/vascular exams under the direction of a physician for identification of abnormalities leading to patient diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritizes and schedules exams, coordinating with medical staff, physician offices, other staff, and patients.
  • Prepares for exams by following patient identification processes, educating patients and families on procedures, and transporting patients.
  • Performs ultrasound exams consistent with related protocols and in a timely manner, using equipment appropriately, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and achieving quality outcomes.
  • Documents exam results and other necessary information accurately and charges for exams and supplies.
  • Cleans and maintains equipment and work areas, stocks supplies, and follows channels to coordinate repair or supply needs.
  • Supports team and quality improvement processes and initiatives.
  • Participates in educational opportunities to ensure clinical competence and develop additional skills and knowledge.
  • Provides education for other staff members, fellows, and students as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac sonography or vascular sonography.
  • Successfully completed one vascular or echo registry (adult, pediatric, fetal) pertinent to the department.
  • BLS certification for healthcare providers.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (degree will be verified).

Work Environment:

This position is located at Intermountain Medical Center, Lutheran Medical Center, St Joseph Hospital, or St Vincent Hospital in Murray, Utah.
