Physician - Board Eligible

Georgia Regional Hospital in Atlanta is seeking a skilled Physician to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary treatment team, you will provide comprehensive medical services to patients, including examining patients, diagnosing conditions, and providing treatments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct nurses, aides, and other medical staff in the care and treatment of patients.
- Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary.
- Advise patients on health care, including health promotion, disease, illness, and accident prevention.
- Coordinate work with nurses, social workers, rehabilitation therapists, pharmacists, psychologists, and other healthcare providers.
- Direct and coordinate activities of nurses, students, assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff.
- Examine patients, take their histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures, and consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health.
- Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
- Provide emergency medical care.
Requirements:
- Medical degree recognized by the Georgia Composite Medical Board (GCMB) and licensure or license-eligible to practice medicine at a state institution or in the state of Georgia as provided by state law.
- Physician must be Board Eligible.
- FOR THIS TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT, STATE LAW REQUIRES A NATIONAL AND STATE BACKGROUND CHECK AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Experience in treating persons with serious and persistent medical illnesses and in providing care as a leader and member of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Experience working with consumers in adult mental health, addictive disease, and forensic psychiatry.
