Job Summary

EvergreenHealth Monroe is seeking a skilled Substance Use Disorder Professional to join our team in the Recovery Center Unit. As a key member of our team, you will provide family counseling and treatment to patients and their families affected by substance use disorder.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume responsibility for an assigned caseload of patients, interviewing, evaluating, and developing treatment plans in compliance with hospital-wide and department-specific policies and procedures.
  • Conduct individual and group counseling, as well as family/employer orientation counseling sessions, presenting information on treatment concepts, objectives, and goals.
  • Function as an active team member in reviewing patients' responses to the treatment program and recommending modifications to treatment plans.
  • Observe patients' response to treatment, record progress notes in charts, and recommend revisions to treatment plans and methods where needed.
  • Make referrals to other treatment programs, community mental health centers, and inpatient extended care facilities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or equivalent training and experience in the treatment of substance use disorder.
  • Meets WAC requirements of a Substance Use Disorder Professional and is certified with the Department of Health as a Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) or Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainee (SUDPT).
  • Recovering substance abusers must have active involvement in a 12-Step Program and a minimum of two years of continuous abstinence.
  • Master's degree in counseling or a related behavioral health field or equivalent training and experience in the treatment of substance use disorder preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and a valid driver's license.
Work Environment and Hazards

Adheres to all State and Federal regulations pertaining to hazardous materials and BBP. Occasionally subject to physical/verbal abuse from patients.

Work Contact Group

Patients/families, hospital staff, physicians, and healthcare providers.

Special Physical Demands

Exposed to multiple priorities and high client stress regularly. May be subject to irregular hours, including weekend work assignments. Hearing, listening, and observation skills constantly used. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations. Requires judgment/action, which could affect patient health and safety.
