Job Title: Behavior Therapist, Residential Treatment Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Behavior Therapist, Residential Treatment Specialist to join our team at I Am Boundless, Inc. This is a full-time position that requires a strong passion for supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and/or behavioral health conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement personalized education, skill acquisition, and behavior reduction plans to help individuals achieve their goals.
  • Provide intensive behavioral health treatment services, including skills development, problem-solving, conflict resolution, emotions/behavior management, and positive coping mechanisms.
  • Implement crisis interventions as needed to maintain a safe environment.
  • Collect and accurately document data and records following Boundless procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized residential and instructional area.
  • Prepare and organize reinforcement and program materials.
  • Complete necessary documentation and reports in compliance with Boundless policies and procedures.
  • Identify areas of improvement and communicate them to supervisors.
  • Perform various household duties, including cooking, cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping, while promoting a home atmosphere.
  • Support individuals with adaptive life skills, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
  • Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all individuals, reporting any concerns or incidents.
  • Transport individuals as needed, maintaining the appearance of Boundless vehicles and fueling them properly.
  • Assist with maintaining household and individual files for compliance with local, state, and federal standards.
  • Report unusual incidents and medical situations as required.
  • Seek and apply feedback professionally, working towards goals developed with supervisors.
  • Dress appropriately and arrive on time for work.
  • Perform first aid as trained and designated.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals, team members, outside professionals, and parents, using professional language.
  • Adhere to the employee handbook and all Boundless policies and procedures.
  • Complete assigned trainings successfully.
  • Obtain required physical crisis management training(s) and certification(s) within 60 days of hire.
  • Promote community involvement and participation in activities.
  • Monitor individual's health and report concerns to nursing staff and/or supervisor.
  • Perform delegated nursing tasks.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate in English, including both spoken and written words.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three-year experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and/or behavioral health conditions.
  • Experience implementing applied behavior analysis.
  • College degree in a related field.

Work Environment:

This role will work in a residential treatment program, with occasional community-based services in schools or other settings. Standard office equipment, such as computers and phones, will be used regularly.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to maintain physical exertion for multiple events across a shift lasting up to 45 minutes per episode.
  • Ability to maintain kneeling and/or crouching positions for multiple events across a shift lasting up to 45 minutes per episode.
  • Ability to stand for the majority of the shift.
  • Ability to quickly respond to sounds and dangerous situations.
  • Ability to wear personal protective and safety gear correctly for the majority of the shift.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to assume and maintain various postures for extended periods, including walking swiftly or running after consumers.
  • Ability to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods.
  • Willingness to restrain/hold/transport individuals as needed.
  • Ability to utilize quick body movements when working with individuals who exhibit challenging behavior.
  • Ability to remain awake for the entire assigned shift.

Estimated Salary: $32/hour, based on the job requirements and industry standards.
