Medical Assistant I, Pediatrics, Greater Boston Region

Under the supervision of clinicians, the Medical Assistant provides clinical support in the exam room, assisting with routine procedures and tests. The role requires excellent communication skills to advise patients on preparation and testing requirements. The Medical Assistant ensures all pre-visit work is completed and lab results are available in the electronic medical record. The position involves delivering exceptional customer service and strengthening the patient-clinician relationship through timely and informative interactions. The Medical Assistant improves clinical operations by providing an efficient patient flow and provides clinical and clerical support to the practice and clinicians related to patient care.
Requirements
A High School diploma or equivalency certificate is required, along with a Medical Assistant Certification. An Associate degree in medical assisting or a graduate of a medical assistant certification program is preferred. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) is strongly preferred, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty. A bachelor's degree combined with an interest in healthcare and excellent problem-solving, multi-tasking, and technology-literate skill sets can be substituted for medical assistant certification or work experience. The role requires a minimum of one-year prior experience in a clinical or customer service setting, with computer experience and the ability to use word processing and spreadsheet programs. Electronic medical record (EMR) experience and/or aptitude to master the EMR is required.
