Patient Service Coordinator

About the Role
This role involves processing patient referrals, registrations, and verifying demographics. You will also schedule appointments, transcribe orders, explain financial options to patients, and update medical records accurately and efficiently. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential in this position, as you will be interacting with patients, staff, and external parties on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting patients and the community in a respectful manner.
- Process admission paperwork and basic insurance verification, ensuring accurate patient identity for hospital billing systems.
- Answer internal and external calls in a friendly and helpful manner.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
- Maintain patient flow and inform Supervisor of any department and patient issues immediately.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A high school degree or equivalent.
- Prior experience in the healthcare field or a related area is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred but not required.
- Basic computer skills and typing speed of 40 WPM.
