About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join our team at OrthoArizona. This is a full-time position that will provide you with the opportunity to work closely with one of our hand, wrist and elbow surgeons, performing clinic and OR duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the physician.
  • Obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients.
  • Review patient medical records.
  • Interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed.
  • Perform complete physical exams and record findings.
  • Establish presumptive diagnoses.
  • Order appropriate lab and diagnostic procedures.
  • Administer injections and medications.
  • Advise patients regarding health and illness prevention.
  • Recommend community resources to help patient and family needs.
  • Instruct patients and families regarding medication and treatment procedures.
  • Assist physicians in recording patient progress.
  • Issue diagnostic orders.
  • Triage patient phone calls.
  • Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
  • Provide on-call services on an assigned basis.
  • Prioritize work activities based on clinical demands.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant in an orthopedic setting.
  • Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Maintenance of Arizona state licensure.
  • Maintenance of CPR certification.
