Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Women's Services Float Pool team at St. David's Round Rock Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to women and their families during their most vulnerable moments.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and provide patient care for all assigned patients, including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessment of the patient and family, develop an individualized patient care plan, and provide family-centered patient teaching.
  • Identify and correct variances from the patient care plan, and facilitate discharge planning and teaching.
  • Assist with procedures such as amniocentesis, versions, vaginal deliveries, vacuum extractions, forcep deliveries, and circulate for cesarean sections.
  • Complete an admission interview upon patient arrival and document the patient assessment.
  • Act promptly and appropriately to report changes to the physician or charge nurse.
  • Assess and document patient educational needs and instructions given upon admission and throughout hospitalization.
  • Provide psychological and social support to the patient and family.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary discharge planning.
  • Accurately administer and legibly document medications.
Requirements
  • 2 years of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in 3 of the following 4 areas – Labor and Delivery, Mother Baby, Transition Nursery, NICU.
  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred.
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required per St. David's Healthcare policy.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required per St. David's Healthcare policy.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required per St. David's Healthcare policy.
