Position Summary

Compensation: $22.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with FSQA management to ensure adherence to Foster Farms, FSIS/USDA, and customer standards.
  • Oversee the production process and conduct routine Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) inspections in line with established food safety and quality protocols at the manufacturing facility.
  • Monitor compliance with Food Safety systems through process oversight and documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to QA process controls through diligent monitoring and record-keeping.
  • Verify that food safety documentation aligns with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Manage product disposition, including inventory control and proper reconditioning procedures.
  • Assess sanitation practices through pre-operational inspections of equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with production and maintenance teams to address quality and food safety concerns.
  • Engage with USDA representatives to resolve regulatory matters.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Candidates must possess the ability to communicate effectively in English (both written and verbal), including the documentation of regulatory paperwork and the explanation of corrective actions.

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills and legible handwriting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet established timelines for monitoring checks.
  • Capability to place non-conforming products or equipment on hold.
  • Favorable employment and attendance history.
  • Able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
  • Willingness to rotate through various departments with differing QC responsibilities as needed.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (8-12 hours) on concrete or metal grate flooring.
  • Comfortable working in cold (40 degrees) or hot environments (up to 100 degrees) as required by the RTE plant.
  • Capable of lifting weights ranging from 5-70 lbs. daily, depending on departmental assignments.
  • Proficient in basic mathematics for conducting checks and comparing to established limits.
