Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Nurse to join our team as a Community Health Advocate. This role will independently plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for individuals with active tuberculosis or latent infection. The successful candidate will also be responsible for initiating individualized case management and contact investigation as needed, as well as assisting with communicable disease surveillance and outbreak response.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:
  1. Independently planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for individuals with active tuberculosis or latent infection;
  2. Initiating individualized case management and contact investigation as needed;
  3. Assisting with communicable disease surveillance and outbreak response;
  4. Conducting communicable disease screenings on refugees seen in the clinic and assessing vaccination status and administering vaccinations as indicated or assigned;
  5. Providing necessary follow-up and referral, and assisting with change of status applications;
  6. May be required to provide nursing services and health support in other Community Health clinics and programs;
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina by the N.C. Board of Nursing;
  • One year of professional nursing experience;
  • Considerable knowledge of public health principles and practices;
  • Ability to work independently and make sound nursing judgments in complex health situations;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Adequate computer skills to allow communication, patient record documentation, and accessing of information.
Benefits and Compensation

This position offers a competitive salary range of $64,093.00 - $86,488.00 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off and holidays.
