About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and physically fit individual to join our team as a Ramp Agent at United Ground Express. As a key member of our ground handling team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient loading and unloading of aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lift and handle baggage, cargo, and other items weighing up to 70 pounds throughout your shift
  • Push/pull loaded and empty carts during loading/unloading operations
  • Ascend/descend jet-way stairs while carrying baggage
  • Bend/stoop and crawl to move and stack/unstack cargo in aircraft
  • Drive ground equipment such as tugs to help the plane push in/out of the gate, belt loaders to help load baggage, and bag carts to deliver baggage
  • Clean and service aircraft lavatories
  • Read and interpret aircraft load sheets, checked baggage tags, and cargo labels
  • Prepping and securing the aircraft for the next flight
  • Ensure compliance with United and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and policies
  • Use radio electronic devices to communicate with co-workers or flight crew
  • Work outdoors in all temperatures and weather conditions

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Must acquire and maintain credentials vital for the position, including fingerprint clearance, local airport badging, and a background check
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment process, which may include a drug screen, hearing and vision check
  • Available to work any shift, day or night, weekends, and holidays; mandatory overtime may be required based on operational need
  • Comfortable working with computers, mobile devices, and new technologies
  • Must be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language
  • Must be able to carry, bend, lift, and turn with bags and other items weighing up to 70 pounds
  • Able to perform a variety of physical activities, including pushing, bending, stooping, climbing, and working in tight spaces
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Estimated Salary Range: $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience
