Audiologist Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Audiologist to join our team at the Indian Health Service. As an Audiologist, you will be responsible for providing professional audiology services to patients of all ages, including diagnostic testing, hearing evaluations, and treatment planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive hearing evaluations and diagnostic testing to determine the type and degree of hearing loss.
  • Provide hearing aid evaluations, selection, and fitting to patients with hearing loss.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to reduce hearing deficits and improve communication skills.
  • Consult with healthcare providers and audiologists to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
  • Perform administrative duties, including strategic planning, policy formulation, and budget management.

Requirements:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in Audiology from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure to practice Audiology in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • At least 3 years of experience in audiology, including 1 year of experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level.

Working Conditions:

This position is located in a Federally operated hospital, health center, or clinic, and requires working with patients of all ages, including neonatal to geriatric. The selected individual must be able to maintain a valid driver's license and pass a background investigation.
