Library Director

We are seeking an experienced Library Manager to oversee the operations of our federal scientific library. The successful candidate will have a strong background in library management and a proven track record of leading a team of professionals.

• Manage a team of librarians and paraprofessionals to provide high-quality library services to our users.
• Develop and implement library policies and procedures to ensure the effective management of library resources.
• Collaborate with federal staff to develop a library management plan that meets the needs of our users.
• Provide training and support to library staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties.
• Facilitate access to information resources and provide research support to our users.
• Participate in special projects that require a working knowledge of library systems technology, databases, and software.

• Master's degree in Library Science or equivalent advanced degree.
• Minimum of 10 years of library experience managing and directing librarians and professional library staff.
• Experience in project planning and project management.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising, training, scheduling, and distributing work for non-exempt and exempt level positions.
